Program Brokerage Corporation (PBC), a subsidiary of HUB International, is a wholesale insurance broker offering retail insurance agents innovative solutions through its general wholesale operation and niche programs.
We are looking for an Associate Underwriter to join our team located in our Warwick, RI office.
Job Purpose:
To support a Team and handle a broad range of daily activities independently utilizing technical expertise and product knowledge.
Functions and Responsibilities:
· Receive, review and forward policies, endorsement and other documents
· Execute placement requests to modify coverage as needed
· Review and forward premium invoices
· Prepare and review submissions of Specifications. Assist in Proposal
Presentation
· Adhere to internal QC policies and procedures
· Maintain communication with underwriters and brokers
· Perform other specific duties as directed by Management
· Pursue educational and technical studies required for next level
Qualifications:
· Four year college degree preferred or equivalent work experience
· Valid RI P&C Brokers License
· 2-5 years’ experience with a wholesaler or broker
· Knowledge of all coverage lines
· Good problem solving and analytical ability
· Ability to execute and ensure compliance to all internal Quality Control procedures
Required Skills:
· Excellent communication skills
· Strong computer skills: Excel & Word a must
Department Account Management & Service
Required Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience
Required Travel: Negligible
Required Education: Some college (no degree)
