What You'll Do As an Account Executive you will be responsible for selling Avalara's complete range of SaaS solutions and services to our customers in the USA region. Your playbook will involve consumption-based upgrades and cross-selling new solutions. Your primary goal will be to drive growth within our existing customer base, tailoring solutions and services to match compliance changes and customer needs. You'll engage in creating the pipeline, negotiating and managing sales cycles, ranging from 30 days to a year, and handle complex contracts. You will identify, create and qualify opportunities, maintain a robust pipeline, negotiate and close deals. A significant part of your day will involve managing a structured rhythm of business, which includes account planning, opportunity management, forecasting, and align with professional sales practices and processes. Your proactive customer management strategy will be essential in building relationships to support retention and identify at-risk renewals, collaborating with internal teams to secure them. As an escalation point for accounts, you'll work across departments to resolve issues, document problem descriptions, and take action steps, ensuring the creation of highly satisfied and referenceable customers. Excellent written/verbal communication skills both internally and externally. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively. Strong problem-solving skills. Experience in cloud based software sales is ideal. Solid knowledge of desktop productivity tools and experience using CRM systems (e.g., salesforce.com) Consultative, Command of the Message, Value Selling, or other solution-based sales methodology knowledge and experience. What You'll Need to be Successful Graduate with a minimum of 7-10 years of quota carrying sales experience, with mandatory experience of deal closure in US / EU markets Proven experience and success in a quota-carrying sales role in US / EU market (mandatory) Experience being held to and motivated by metrics.
