Serves as the liaison between the organization and customers. Develops and maintains a positive relationship with customers. Oversees customer account management, including negotiating contracts and agreements to maximize profit. Predicts future market trends. Resolves conflicts and provides solutions to issues that arise. Sets and tracks sales account targets, keeping aligned with company objectives. May be responsible for sales budget. Performs work under direct supervision. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. May act as a lead. Typically requires BA and 5-7 years.
In this role, you will proactively engage with Federal Government personnel, targeting Civilian end clients for the purpose of identifying, qualifying and closing sales opportunities of Affigent’s product and service offerings. The candidate will leverage his/her proven experience and relationships in solution-sales to the federal government via a consultative sales approach and be responsible for all sales activities in assigned targeted accounts. The candidate will work closely with an Account Manager and develop a cohesive plan in order to grow the business in their assigned territory. The candidate must be a subject matter expert in their assigned agencies and understand the agencies’ missions, budgets, priorities and programs in order to provide the customer with the right solution.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement an effective Agency focused sales strategy and account penetration plan within Civilian territory accounts.
Meet or exceed monthly and yearly Sales Revenue and Gross Profit target goals.
Develop and maintain relationships with high level decision makers within assigned Civilian agencies.
Communicate new product and service offering, complex sales opportunities, or feedback gathered through field activity to management.
Work with Account Manager to identify and close qualified opportunities.
Build relationships with vendor sales reps tied to the same named accounts to promote IT solutions.
Maintain all customer records in CRM database up to date.
Develop and manage a 30-day forecast and 60-90-120-day pipeline within CRM.
Provide weekly and monthly forecasts to management.
Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and webinar marketing events.
Conduct early customer engagement and registering of opportunities with key vendor partners early in the sales cycle to get special pricing for developing the opportunity.
Obtain and maintain sales certifications of key, strategic vendors.
Qualifications
Eight plus (8+) years of solution-selling experience with at least five (5) years selling to the Federal Government, with a primary focus on Civilian accounts.
Proven history of meeting/exceeding yearly quota.
Demonstrated sales experience in selling technical solutions.
Working knowledge of FAR regulations and Federal Government procurement processes.
Working knowledge of Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have the ability to present to “C” level audience.
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Desired Qualifications:
SEWP V and CIO-CS experience a plus.
Focused, ambitious self-starter who exhibits attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Eagerness to learn complex enterprise software and hardware solutions to enable successful development of sales opportunities.
A team player capable of working within a collaborative environment and making contributions when appropriate.
Education: Four year degree from an accredited university.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Use of home-based office equipment.
50% business travel.
May occasionally be required to lift up to 20lbs.
