Account Executive

The Role

As an Account Executive in our office in Johannesburg, you will be responsible for a portfolio of clients (including Multinational clients) with accountability to develop accounts and client relationships within the business unit by delivering quality client solutions. The account executive is a single-entry point into WTW who possesses the relationships and authority to bring skills to clients account in whatever geography they reside. The Client Executive will work with the team and internal placement brokers to manage overall client service delivery and administration throughout the insurance period and renewal life cycle. The position is a client facing role to maintain and enhance client relationships while also ensuring client retention and profitability. The role also includes developing leads and assisting with new business.

On Multinational clients, the Account Executive is responsible to manage multifunctional teams, network partners and local insurers with effective control to ensure that the service quality is always above standard. 

The key elements of the role includes:

Clear communication of programs, policies and procedures to the WTW Global Network in line with risk purchasing philosophy Management and control of local broker service and remuneration, ensuring a high standard of delivery through issuing of an annual client survey document Production of a Global Insurance Manual and Network Brief Working with your team and broking team to provide a compliant, efficient program structure Managing and policing insurers to ensure speedy and accurate issuance of local policies and invoices Provision of useful management information such as summaries of local insurances, premiums and ad hoc reports Reviewing of local covers against the Global Program and ensuring there are no duplications or gaps in cover. A comparison document is compiled after review of all local covers. Dealing with day-to-day queries either from local brokers, or client on international or country specific issues The above forms the core part of the role and ensures that the client, the local brokers and insurers have a focal point for international issues.

 

Communication and control are key to delivering exceptional international service.  As well as providing this, you and the team are:

A center of expertise for international regulation and practices A dedicated resource to gather necessary management information where required Able to provide an up-to-date review of legislation in all territories within which clients operates  Able to deliver transparency on local issues and remuneration

You will continuously work with clients to scope both the central and local service that is required, ensuring that any processes and protocols put in place fit with the clients’ way of working. 

The Requirements

 

Grade 12Business degree or NQF Level 6 (FSB Recognized Qualification) Regulatory Examination (RE5)10 years relevant client servicing or placement experience with proven technical expertise in several insurance products (Property & Casualty, Commercial Lines & Motor).An experienced negotiator who can make business critical client servicing decisions with confidence and acumen.Extensive experience in managing the complexities of multi-national insurance placements including local covers in territory.Ability to make central control over the multitude of local placements much tighter, using WTW network partnersAbility to use WTW risk finance and analytics capabilities to ensure that the use of the risk finance vehicles is optimised and in line with client’s own appetite for accepting risk.Must have detailed knowledge of and experience of insurance arrangements which allows you to perform the service functions clients require and take the insurance program to the next level of sophistication.  Ability to focus on the more important and strategic insurance and risk related matters by continuously reviewing ways to improve the insurance program, to become a value enhancer to clients.Understanding and executing advice based on a customer's risk profile assessing several key criteria to advise and gudie on their risk exposures effectively and professionally

Other Skills:

A genuine interest in advancing and growing the business to establish new contacts and take responsibility of the client service delivery process.Ability to express yourself professionally, both verbally and written, in EnglishSound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
