Account Executive
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Generate leads and cultivate new business relationships with building owners and managers.
• Manage and grow existing accounts within assigned territories (primarily focusing on the Vancouver downtown core / Burnaby and Fraser Valley).
• Participate in industry trade shows and events for networking and lead generation.
• Work closely with senior leaders on larger sales opportunities.
• Utilize HubSpot CRM for lead tracking and reporting.
• Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Key Qualifications and Skills:
• Proven track record in business development and sales within the relevant industry.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Experience with HubSpot CRM software (preferred, but not required).
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Experience working within the Vancouver market is a plus.
Ideal Experience Level:
• The participant seeks an experienced salesperson, ideally someone who can handle larger accounts. They are open to candidates with various levels of experience, but someone with a history of exceeding expectations is preferred. The ideal candidate would be a long-term partner and is comfortable working largely independently.
Role’s Place in Organizational Structure:
This Account Manager role is for the Vancouver Mainland office, Our client’s largest Canadian market. The office owner, seeks a partner to handle large accounts and generate leads, supplementing existing junior staff focused on operations. The goal is to build a long-term partnership.
Team Size and Structure:
The team currently includes two junior employees cross-trained in operations and sales, who will primarily focus on operations. The new hire will be a senior salesperson.
Direct Reporting:
The new hire will report directly to the most senior person in the Vancouver Mainland office.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
• Specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals will be defined based on the candidate’s experience and preferences.
• Use of HubSpot CRM will be a key indicator of productivity and progress.
Software/Technology Proficiency:
• Proficiency in HubSpot CRM is preferred, but not required.
Travel and work schedule:
• The role will likely involve a hybrid work model, with some in-office time at an office in or near Vancouver’s downtown core.
• Some travel within the greater Vancouver area may be required, in-person meetings with clients and colleagues are likely.
• The work arrangement is primarily hybrid, with a focus on business development activities in the downtown core or Fraser Valley. While the main office is outside Surrey, the successful candidate would likely not be required to be in the office daily, possibly once a week.
Candidate Profile
Personal Qualities/Soft Skills: Our clients are looking for a “rockstar salesperson” who is a “real partner,” able to build relationships and generate leads.
Accountability and a long-term commitment were emphasized, as was the ability to work independently and manage time effectively given the virtual nature of much of the work.
Background/Industry Experience: The ideal candidate would have proven experience in business development (BD) and account management, possibly within the same industry. Experience selling in the Vancouver market sales of services to building owners/managers is considered an advantage.
