Job Summary
Responsible for achieving or exceeding sales quota in assigned territory by developing new business opportunities and selling products/services of the Company through personal contacts at the customer level. Assigned territory can be within one state or across multiple states as defined by the company. Develops and manages relationships with key decision makers (KDM) and thought leaders (TL).
Primary Responsibilities:
Meets established monthly and annual sales quota.
Maintains regular, planned communication with KDM and TL.
Effectively uses sales techniques that maximize the opportunity to sell additional products and services.
Keep abreast of changes in market place, competitive environment, regulatory environment, and economic trends that impact business.
Attend trade shows, conferences, seminars, and other industry related events.
Make effective use of sales tools including but not limited to product demonstrations, presentations, videos, reference sites, and on-line resources.
Conducts workshops and product demonstrations to potential customers.
Uses a variety of sales techniques to develop new markets and expand existing ones.
Achieves high levels of customer satisfaction.
Adheres to all corporate compliance policies.
Other duties as assigned.
The territory for this role is IL, IN, MI, OH, KY, Western PA, and WV
The candidate must reside in one of these locations.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Five years of capital pharma and/or medical device sales experience
Ability to travel up to 60-70% within territory
Valid driver's license required with no serious traffic violations.
Strong knowledge of clinical practice workflow and financial operations preferred.
Knowledge of medical device industry and hospital supply chain operations preferred.
Ability to understand technical information and communicate it to non-technical audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and hospital personnel.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Internet software.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience working with privately owned businesses or health care practices preferred.
Strong prospecting skills with a hunter mentality required.
Strong negotiation and contract negotiating skills.
Working knowledge of the pharmacy industry preferred
Experience selling capital equipment/hardware and/or disposable supplies/software/IT solutions preferred.
Sales experience with large account or national accounts preferred.
Experience working in an individual contributor role where project assignments are generally short term and focused on specific tasks.
Experience working independently or with a team of sales representatives.
Experience using computers for word processing, data analysis, presentation development, email, and other business applications
