Account Manager, Employee Benefits

The purpose of the Account Manager is to collaborate with Sales Producers and Account Executives to maintain synergy between HUB International Utah, carriers, and clients.  The Account Manager provides the highest quality of professional service to every customer and assists the Account Executive with servicing all areas of the account in a timely manner.  Duties include arranging monthly and quarterly client meetings, follow-up efforts, compliance research, renewal requests and coordination, new business carrier quotes and proposals, review of plan documents and certificates of insurance, etc..  In addition, Account Managers are expected to help answer questions, provide professional information, and help the Account Executives enhance existing policies.

Duties and responsibilities

Manage HUB Utah’s new business onboarding workflowCoordinate and attend meetings with clients and carriersAssist insured members with insurance related questionsResearch and respond to client questions and requestsCoordinate internal resources to address client projects and requestsKeep all team members abreast of client projects and requestsKeep open client projects and requests moving forward to find timely resolutionAssist with compliance-related researchCompile renewal analysis and create annual benefit guide documentsCreate carrier request for proposals, and client proposal in Perfect Quote software systemReview annual Contracts, Certificates of Insurance, and Summary Plan DocumentsAssist with paperwork for new and renewing businessOnboard new businessRespond timely to emails, messages, and other requestsMaintains positive relationships both internally and externallyMaintain HUB Values including HIPPA ComplianceOther tasks as discussed with manager

Skills/Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED (college preferred)2+ years of working in employee benefitsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAnalytical and problem-solving abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office – intermediate user level preferredExcellent organizational skillsAbility to work well under pressure with attention to detailTeam oriented self-starter with ability to prioritize, monitor and control workflow deadlines and be flexibleDetail orientedSense of urgencyUnderstanding of benefits & benefit terminologyProficient typing abilityHigh degree of independence and problem-solving skills

Working conditions

Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.  Some travel may be required during the year.
