WE provides a breadth of health communications services to clients across pharmaceuticals and biopharmaceuticals, consumer health and wellness, health IT, medical devices, digital health, health plans and life sciences. We develop innovative programs that reach and influence the industry, investors, providers, advocates, patients, regulators, policy makers, payers, and consumers. You will support our work by:
Working closely with our Senior Vice President, Health Media and Content, and Directors, Health Media, to provide media relations counsel to health clients. Collaborating with a team of Health Media Specialists to share learnings and best practices from your daily work and identifying synergies across accounts; developing a bi-weekly newsletter on media insights to share with the broader healthcare practice and clients. Providing strategic input on development of integrated communications plans, ensuring strong media strategy and angles aimed at achieving client business goals. Identifying, creating, and growing relationships with target media/influencers to appropriately engage, pitch, and secure coverage. Executing all media outreach program elements, including pitching, contributing content, and other hands-on media activities (e.g., media list development, media update emails, client deliverables). Demonstrating strong writing/editing skills and experience developing client content including press releases, backgrounders, FAQs, and other media materials; Experience working with creative teams to develop multimedia materials a plus. Establishing strong collaboration and communication with core account teams and other client teams; Partnering with existing media relations experts to support media campaigns. Educating and developing broader account and junior staff team members on media items, including outreach, media list development, story-mining, media monitoring, etc. Deploying excellent project management skills – keeping all trains moving on time, anticipating client needs, managing expectations and satisfaction, and measuring and reporting media results. Qualifications 4+ years of developed meaningful PR and media relations experiences, preferably in an agency setting and/or within an applicable industry. Significant media relations experience and demonstrated success in executing media campaigns; established relationships with key healthcare, wellness, pharmaceutical/biotech, payer, science and tech trade, business, and national media reporters, demonstrated by placements you’ve garnered across these types of publications. Experience monitoring for media trends, story-mining, media monitoring deliverables, and developing client-facing media updates. Experience working on pharma/biotech, health tech, payer, hospital, or other healthcare accounts; Understanding of the healthcare landscape and trending media stories that affect our clients. Experience with high science or data announcements, or ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and distill complex healthcare topics and subject matter into digestible content for media and consumers. Solid project management skills – timeline development/management, meeting deadlines, anticipating what’s to come. Strong writing/editing skills. Ability to develop client-ready documents such as press releases, backgrounders, Q&As, etc. Through daily use, developed high proficiencies with the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Teams, Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel.) Preferred Qualifications High level of analysis and strategic recommendations based on industry knowledge High level of initiative; take accountability for role on projects Demonstrated creative and strategic mindset Has established editor relationships and has proactively placed stories Client and business environment: Customer service orientation is a must. Job pressure may exist from requirement of handling multiple tasks. Experience working globally or with colleagues in multiple locations Fast-paced team environment (frequent tight deadlines, multitasking, etc.) Strong presentation and consulting skills along with the ability to read, write and speak English May need to work more than 40 hours per week on occasion Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.#LI-DF1

Compensation
The base annual salary range for this role, applicable across all U.S. locations, is outlined below. The actual salary may vary based on several factors such as business requirements, job responsibilities, skills, experience, and geographical location.
