IFF is a global leader in Food Ingredients and Flavors and we are constantly looking for new challenges—and developing new-to-world solutions that answer them. We are now looking for a dynamic talent to join our Japan Commercial team as Account Manager, Ingredients. 

As Account Manager for Ingredients Product group (Hydrocolloids, Proteins, Sweeteners, Emulsifiers), you will manage existing accounts and develop new accounts. The role will be part of Nourish Sales team to expand Ingredients business, especially for blenders and through key partners (distributors) in Japan, with the goal to ensure growth and business wins. The role will see you effectively collaborate with Marketing, R&D, Logistic and Supply teams.
This position is Japan based and will report into Sales Leader, Ingredients, Japan.

How You Will Contribute

Achieve profitable sales growth targets by winning new business and maintaining current sales accounts.

Manage quotes and pricing negotiations, optimize order patterns, provide accurate sales forecasts.

Manage the project pipeline and all information related to the projects and opportunities.

Build and manage relationship with customer/accounts, organize customer visit/workshop, and keep customer up to date on project progress.

Initiate Innovation and Proactive activities related to product promotion to respective accounts referencing market dynamics and company’s capability.

Accountable for all communication between the customer and internal stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, Technical/R&D and Supply Chain) on order delivery timeline, specifications and all matters related to legal and quality.

Take ownership in driving sales project across Commercial, Technical and Marketing support team to ensure sales and business goals are delivered.

Participate in sales or industry events and exhibitions.

Manage internal system for pipeline, forecast and pricing etc.

Share necessary business information with other functions appropriately in timely manner.

What you will need to be successful

Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Food Science, Food & Nutrition, Food Technology or any other relevant industry.

At least 3-5 years’ experience in B2B sales including Food Ingredients or Food Manufacturing industry.

Proven track record in account development, creating and supporting delivery of strategies to meet business objectives. 

Comfortable working in a B2B environment with a positive, self-driven or action-oriented approach.

Ability to influence and a strong negotiator.

High drive and self-motivated, positive mindset and a great team player.

Strong and effective communication skill in English, both verbal and written

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).

Good presentation skills for sales or brand concept delivery to senior stakeholders.

Willing to travel.
