Job Description Summary 

The Account Manager, Sales & Service is responsible for order management and sales activities for an assigned territory of accounts. Develops and grows new and existing accounts, markets, and sales of new products in accordance with the Business Plan. Maintains highest level of knowledge possible of Alkegen's products, applications, services, and policies. Services all customers within the assigned territory.   Maintains cognizance of all market influences. Manages channels of distribution. Penetrates and develops new accounts while maintaining existing business and integrating product/process and application knowledge into successful territory plan. Assesses customer requirements and competitor activity.  

Responsibilities 

Order Management 

Receives and processes customer orders, inquiries covering items or products ordered.  

Maintains an ongoing relationship with assigned customers. Uses knowledge of products, product availability, sales territories, and individual customers to provide a key communications link to the customer. 

Responsible for ensuring that the order has been entered correctly and that the customer has received acknowledgment with a realistic delivery date. 

Provides standard pricing and quoting, product availability, and schedule information within established guidelines. 

Work closely with Production Control, Purchasing, and Shipping to ensure our customers’ needs are being met.  Tracks order activity and alerts appropriate stakeholders of any potential delivery problems. Partners with Logistics to expedite delivery of selected orders. 

Maintain a high level of customer service as reflected by a low number of customer complaints. 

Will need to have basic knowledge of export order processing including ocean and air export shipment regulations and familiarity with NAFTA and other free trade agreements. 


Sales Performance & Reporting: 

Utilize commercial systems and processes to effectively manage assigned territory (CRM, tableau, Key Account Plans). 

Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review. 

Provide insights and recommendations based on sales data and market analysis. 

Achieve revenue targets and sales KPIs. 

Negotiate terms and conditions with customers to secure profitable and mutually beneficial agreements. Prepare price quotations to existing and potential new customers   


Customer Relationship Management 

Own and Grow Assigned Accounts, selling in consultative way to increase customer value. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to foster loyalty and repeat business. 

Resolve escalated customer problems, complaints, and inquiries for assigned accounts 

Use CRM to maintain accuracy of all contacts / accounts, manage leads, and progress opportunities. 

Communicate with cross-functional teams to increase sales, reach additional markets, and promote new business. 

Use customer feedback to generate ideas about potential new products, product updates and new applications. 


Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, engineering /business/marketing. 1 - 2 years sales / sales support experience. Exceptional communications skills, both oral and written, coupled with excellent listening skills and a positive and energetic phone presence. Highly motivated and positive attitude with strong customer focus. Adept computer skills, including proficiency in CRM, Microsoft Office Suite and Teams. Ability to work independently as well as in a team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively Excel in skill of negotiation, building relationships, and product/market knowledge. Reliable, trustworthy and detail oriented with good decision-making skills. 

Salary equals up to $27.40 per hour.
