Where is the work:

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week. 

Job Summary: 

As an Account Manager, you will join Klinge Corporation, a Brand Portfolio of Trane Technologies and the World’s Leading Manufacturer of Specialized Refrigerated Transport Containers team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in efficiency and sustainability through our offerings. 

In this role, you are primarily responsible for delivering on our business strategy by developing long-term customer relationships with a focus on offering a variety of transport refrigeration and freezer containers, including Dual Reefer Systems, Explosion-Proof Reefers, Tank Container Reefers, Offshore Reefers, Blast Freezers, Deep Storage Freezers, Quick Thaw Containers, Expandable Containers, DNV Refrigerated Containers, and more. You will bring your passion for solving problems, creating customer value, and building relationships to make an impact.

This position is responsible for developing long-term relationships with customers and overseeing sales of new units and leasing activities in North and South America.

The Account Manager will be a primary point of contact for customers, exercising independent judgment and critical thinking in making significant decisions regarding how best to serve the customers and accomplish company objectives. Travel will be a normal part of the position, with customer contact and visits being a priority as needed in order to secure new and continuing business.  

The position is also responsible for determining standard product suitability for non-standard customer applications, working on cost/pricing estimation for modification projects, working with Engineering in the specifying of parts for such modifications, and providing an effective project scope, developing solutions for customer problems.

In addition, the Account Manager works with the Marketing team to update and maintain various marketing materials (including content for brochures and trade show materials), respond to customers’ inquiries on products, and analyze market data to establish and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.

The Account Manager develops and executes on the appropriate sales and leasing plans and strategies required to achieve growth and profit objectives, including maximizing growth opportunities with existing customers, identifying potential new customers, and driving the equipment leasing effort. Other key responsibilities include collaborative work with other departments to assist in the development of consistent, accurate and timely estimates; leading the development and implementation of leasing initiatives; and, to identify, design and implement new market opportunities, products and plans.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesMeet or exceed the Sales and Leasing goals for the business, including quote preparation and submission, customer interaction and negotiations and interface with shipping professionals as required. To improve sales and gross profit in existing and new products and to increase market penetrationVisit with customers regarding sales or leasing of container systems as well as attending conferences and exhibitions in the Americas and possibly other regions. Estimated expected travel could grow to approximately ten to twelve (10-12) weeks of the year, or more, depending on business needs. Training on the equipment will be provided to ensure appropriate level of understanding.Work with Engineering in the obtaining of prompt and accurate sales support in the bid/estimating of jobs and in the development of technical and non-technical content and programs tailored to specific audiences (employees, customers, stakeholders).Estimate costs/pricing for customer requested changes or modifications to equipment and container bodies, also in the case of one-off modifications to provide these estimates for customer quotations. Works with and guide others in the successful completion of requested changes or modifications to equipment and container bodies, also in the case of one-off modifications.Establish and grow business relationships with key decision makers, identifying and developing strong relationships, and appropriately utilizing influencers and advocatesEffectively target and identify opportunities.  Facilitate discovery.  Qualify opportunities early in the buying and selling processSell, renew, and expand lease agreements to both new and existing customersOwn and execute the business management process from opportunity identification to contract award

 General Duties and Responsibilities 

Maintain friendly, cooperative relations with customers, vendors, company personnel and management.Follow all Company personnel policies and procedures and enforce them uniformly throughout the office, shop and warehouse.Demonstrate the ability to tactfully handle difficult situations.Anticipate problems and provide contingency plans and recommendations.Organize personal schedule to maximize productivity and time management.Perform other tasks or assignments as delegated by the Sales and Marketing Manager.Engage multiple stakeholders, influencers, and key decision makersAssess current market opportunities and utilize account management process to identify key customersPerform new customer contact standard work to support new customer growth goalsDevelop and execute account specific business plans to identify the long term, mutual support requirements required to facilitate a strong, profitable and successful partnership.Perform quote follow up standard work and provide critical market information, in order to support continuous improvement efforts.Establish systematic customer contact to provide on-going information and relationship building.Responsible for maintaining customer data files and keeping records of sales, customer information, requests and pipeline management.QualificationsBachelor's degree in relevant commercial or technical field. High level of computer literacy.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to build relationships, entrepreneurial drive, ability to “close”, time management skills.Demonstrated ability to generate and qualify leads, facilitate customer conversations with business level insights to establish value and create demand, close new business and the grow existing account relationships Strong financial and business acumen and self-starter mindsetAbility to create/plan your day, visit customers.Demonstrated ability to manage and grow sales volume; ability to meet and exceed sales goalsOutstanding influencing, interpersonal and networking skillsProven consultative sales skills, including the ability to discover customer problems and implications, establish value and financial justification resulting in customer purchase

 

Experience:

Ten (10) or more years of service and equipment sales and/or leasing experienceSales and/or leasing of mobile refrigeration equipment.Experience in the refrigerated intermodal transport industry is highly desiredFluency in Spanish

Compensation:    $ 100,000-$160,000

Total compensation for this role will include an incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
