Job Description
This position is the lead Relationship Manager for all key stakeholders of the client and is accountable for the development / execution of the specific account management strategy plan. As the lead client liaison for the organization, the Account Manager exercises a solid understanding of benefits administration, service and ancillary products.Responsible for the retention and generation of new revenue with the sale of group ancillary products and services to medical and existing ancillary customers, working in partnership with assigned brokers and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina health sales representatives.
Comprehensive knowledge of all group ancillary products and services (including dental, vision, life, short and long term disability, voluntary products and MEC), commission agreements, rating and financial arrangements. Basic, voluntary and flexible benefit proposal presentation and enrollment.
Function as a health care strategist and consultant through interactions and negotiations with clients, producers and consultants.
Responsible for the retention of existing ancillary product lines and the sale of targeted product lines,
Direct accountability for profit and loss performance and revenue generation.
Execution of fiduciary responsibilities including execution of business contracts.
Actively participate in the implementation process.
Responsible for total account management with comprehensive knowledge and effective skills in the following areas: Employer Benefit Products, Funding Mechanisms, Available Programs including Wellness Initiatives, Relationship Management, Strategic Planning, and Time Management.Continually develop technical, analytical, relationship, and communication skills necessary to function effectively.
Communicate and consult with client contacts, producers / consultants, and internal contacts to meet and exceed segment goals and objectives.
Provide service to all enrolled business through the execution of an account management plan developed through strategic planning taking into account changes in the marketplace and emerging opportunities / threats.
Support meetings with group employees to educate employees on their benefits.
Responsible for keeping abreast of competitor positioning/practices/information to use in benchmarking competitive practices.
Promote goodwill between BCBSNC and the community by maintaining contact with business leaders through participation in community affairs.
Analyze, solution and deliver specific financial, statistical and utilization/wellness reports to client contacts and the applicable producer/consultant client.
Review, prepare and present annual benefit plan renewals to group decision makers including detailed financial reviews, rating methodologies, and plan recommendations.
What You'll Need
Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
3+ years of experience in related field
In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field
Must be able to obtain a North Carolina Health and Life Insurance license within the 60 days of employment in this position.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Compensation
This is a sales incentive role with a total compensation package that consists of a base salary and sales incentive target component. All sales roles are eligible for an initial draw/guarantee to assist new hires with their on-boarding with the company.
