Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will act as the primary point of contact between assigned account and ABB Process Automation- Energy Industries (PAEN). Assigned accounts will be comprised of customers and prospects from the Power, Water, Chemicals, Refining, Oil & Gas and Pharmaceutical markets. This role serves as a business driver for sales activities relating to ABB’s Automation, Electrical, Digital and Services Business lines. The role will address all the various decision makers (end-user plant sites, end user corporate centers, EPCs and engineering firms, Chanel Partners). The Regional Account Manager has responsibility for selling to existing and new customers, and to grow his/her installed base of customers by prospecting the assigned territory for conversion or greenfield opportunities. The Regional Account Manager will also report to the Regional Sales Manager.The work model for the role is: #LI - RemoteThis role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries Division for the East Coast region.You will be mainly accountable to:•\tAchieve Sales Targets: Consistently meet or exceed sales targets for the assigned territory, while maintaining accurate sales forecasts and customer engagement reports.•\tCustomer Relationship Management: Develop and nurture strong, trusting relationships with engineering, maintenance, operations, and senior management groups of assigned customers, understanding their business objectives and promoting ABB solutions.•\tSales Operating System Execution: Implement key requirements of the US Sales Operating System, including creating and executing Territory Plans, Account Plans, and Project Pursuit Plans, as well as maintaining an accurate sales forecast and customer engagement/visit reporting within SFDC. •\tStrategic Sales Pursuits: Develop and drive capture strategies for specific sales opportunities, support proposal development by communicating strategies and key customer issues and collaborate with other ABB Business Units to uncover broader system and service offerings and prepare the necessary information (MS-Power Point slides, MS-Excel spreadsheets, etc.) to support meetings with customers and BU Management.•\tCustomer Advocacy and Marketing: Act as the primary advocate for customers within ABB, ensuring high satisfaction and loyalty by promoting ideas and resolving issues, while also contributing to and utilizing ABB Branding, Global Marketing, and Local Marketing Initiatives.Our team dynamicsYou will join a dynamic, talented, and high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.
Qualifications for the roleMinimum of a BS in Engineering (or technical field) is required.5 years of experience in Direct to End Customer sales is required, or 2 or more years of experience with ABB. – 8 years of experience in a combination of sales, related experience or education.Practical understanding of the control system/automation and/or digital process optimization/software market and what customers desire from a control systems vendor supplying state of the art technology and services. DCS or high-end distributed PLC/HMI sales or service experience or equivalent. Relevant Industry experience (Selling into Power Gen, Chemicals, O&G, Life Sciences and EPCs)Travel - will be on the road visiting customers more than 60% of the time. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
