Astronics-PECO, located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.
We are looking for an experienced **Account Manager** to join our Defense and Aerospace business team. In this position you will foster relationships and manage existing and new customer accounts with a focus on the Aerospace and Defense markets. This will include presenting and assisting in the negotiation of customer proposals, orders, and contracts supporting these accounts. You will work cross-functionally to ensure our customer requirements are met and their expectations are exceeded. This role will position the business for continued growth and long-term successful customer relationships.
To be successful in this role you will need to be an independent self-starter with an analytical mind. You will need to be comfortable with regular communication, customer facing meetings, and have a high business acumen with a high level of organization.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Act as liaison between the customer and Astronics-PECO. Represent the voice of the customer internally to other personnel and departments
+ Lead preparation for and host customer meetings
+ Respond to fact finding and technical evaluation activities where appropriate
+ Participate in order and contract negotiations
+ Manage orders and coordinate internally to ensure customer deadlines are met
+ Analyze data on product performance to support customer delivery and quality standards
+ Lead various proposal efforts, from pre-request for proposal requirements definition through award of contract, to include managing support for fact-finding, requests for Information (RFIs), and negotiation
+ Provide input and participate in the planning and technical development of products and services
+ Develop and deliver professional presentations to customers that focus on the benefits of Astronics-PECO products and speak directly to customer needs
+ Maintain an up to date working knowledge of newly developing technologies and manufacturing practices
**Desired Trainings, Skills and Experience:**
+ Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, or related fields, with additional technical training, preferred
+ 3-5 years of field technical/industrial experience; experience working with contract manufacturing services, preferred
+ Ability to read/interpret/understand customer drawings and manufacturing plans
+ Demonstrated ability to manage large and small projects and/or accounts
+ Demonstrated experience with quoting and proposal writing
+ Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and the ability to interpret and explain data
+ Strong presentation skills and an ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel
+ Strong computer skills with proficiency in all MS Office applications
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
