Clariant is currently looking for an Account Manager to support the Adsorbents and Additives business unit. The Account Manager for the Coatings & Adhesives (C&A) segment will oversee a territory of existing regional accounts across a diverse portfolio of additives, including waxes, light stabilizers, and flame retardants, with a primary focus on coatings, inks, adhesives, and specialty application markets. This role is responsible for driving growth, increasing market share, and achieving annual sales targets by understanding customer needs and ensuring a seamless sales process. Additionally, the Account Manager will identify and manage new business opportunities, fostering a strong opportunity pipeline and contributing to the execution of the C&A segment strategy in the region. Responsibilities

•    Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, addressing inquiries, providing product recommendations, and offering exceptional customer service
•    Lead price negotiations with customers and manage profitability to achieve financial targets
•    Provide technical support and product recommendations to clients, addressing their specific needs and requirements
•    Drive growth through management of CRM opportunity pipeline
•    Collaborate with technical business development managers to support pipeline development
•    Provide a consultative selling approach to customers helping them make informed decisions about products and services
•    Manage and communicate sales forecasts, account plans and budgets, and sales pipeline
•    Identify growth opportunities and develop strategies to maximize revenue at assigned accounts
•    Collaborate with internal teams on product development, pricing strategies, marketing campaigns and market insights, supply chain and customer service
•    Manage price quotes, RFP’s and contracts while also supporting accounts receivables and inventory targets
•    Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor’s activities, and market developments to identify potential new customers and market opportunities
•    Proactively address and mitigate churn risks
 


 

Requirements

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Science, or a Business-related field
•     Minimum of 5 years in sales, business development, or technical marketing within the CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers) or specialty chemicals industry
•    An established presence and contacts within the CASE industries, preferred 
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, and CRM software
•    Consultative selling expertise with a focus on building strong client relationships
•    Capacity to learn product attributes and deliver solutions in line with customer needs
•    Strong business acumen and high level of autonomy to make complex decisions within operating guidelines
•    Demonstrated ability to navigate and influence multiple levels of an organization, including executive/C-Suite decision makers
