Based in Osaka sales office, you will be in charge of the Kansai area. The products in charge are research reagents for molecular biology, cell culture, and cell analysis, plastic consumables, and small tabletop research equipment, representing the invitrogen, Gibco, and Nunc brands. End users are primarily from academia, but also include venture capitalists, small and medium-sized companies, and hospitals. Since the sales style is based on sales through contract distributors, it is necessary to build relationships with suppliers. Therefore, regular visits to customers and product study sessions are required. In the same sales team, there are not only reagent sales staff as colleagues, but also sales staff dedicated to large equipment. You will also be expected to collaborate on reagent and instrument activities as needed.
The daily work of the team consists mainly of business meetings with customers in the field or in web meetings. You will be responsible for daily sales (run-rate) activities, including new product introductions and switching activities from competitors, as well as small equipment demonstrations and deliveries. There is also a system in place to get academic follow-up from internal technical support as needed. Other duties may include submitting sales forecasts, periodic meetings, and new product training.
Overnight business travel may be required. Periodic trips to the Tokyo headquarters may be required.
