In this role you will be accountable for the sales of scientific products and services within Austria, serving customers engaged in research and development and production within the Biotech segment. The Account Manager maintains effective customer relations for existing and new customers, develops opportunities for growth and assures profitability while achieving sales and profit targets.

We are looking for an Account Manager to join our Customer Channels Group / Fisher Scientific, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, to serve our most important customers in Austria (Vienna).

Reporting to the Senior Regional Sales Manager you are going to be responsible for driving sales and supporting our customers whilst improving profitability through effective territory planning and organization of territory sales calls and visits.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:Drives Biotech specific product sales, to support supplier partnerships and actively promote core products and valuable servicesDevelop and maintain a rounded understanding of the sales positioning of Thermo Fisher Scientific and its products specific to your market segment. Using this knowledge, successfully demonstrate the strengths and breadth of the organization by building and maintaining an effective network of connections within the Thermo Fisher Scientific organization.Optimally communicate the segment adapted Thermo Fisher Scientific value proposition to key customersAchieve or exceed sales and margin targets for your designated territoryDevelop and implement strategic and tactical sales plans for your specified territory to ensure revenue and gross margin objectives are met by using company defined financial modelsMaintain effective customer relationships and assure continued market penetration and profitability by making in depth calls to scientific end user and purchasing contactsUse communication and influencing skills to effectively use internal resources and improve selling timeWork to drive product sales and improved servicesWork closely with fellow sales team members within the customerImplement strategies for assigned Program and non-Program accountsIdentify and satisfy customer requirements and meet the needs of valued business opportunitiesStay in sync with metrics on required elements of personal administration. Maintain the sales force automation system (Salesforce.com)Review, maintain and lead compliance to key performance indicators, including, but not limited to, sales performance, call planning, call rate, and opportunity managementKey to Success:Sales experience or highly motivated new starterExperience in science and/or Lab management particularly in the field of laboratory equipment, lab consumables, chemicals and life-science productsBachelor’s degree, preferably in the sciences or equivalent work experienceStrong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skillsComputer proficiency in MS Office and the Web along with use of sales force softwareCommercial mindset, strongly motivated by desire to win new businessProficient in German and EnglishGood interpersonal/collaboration, time management, communication, presentation, strategic selling and negotiating skillsConfident personality, able to optimally engage with customers across a range of settings including one-to-one meetings, exhibitions and formal presentations, across all sectors in which we operate
