Responsibilities
Account Manager:
Promotes and maintains the continuum of patient care from the hospital to home setting specific to patients in need of Specialty IV therapy, Home IV therapy, Specialty Pharmacy or Enteral Nutrition.
Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team and servicing home health agencies to facilitate quality, cost effective services in the home, while maintaining continuity of care and achieving positive patient outcomes.
Performs sales duties in and around assigned hospitals, including all relevant clinics and physician offices
Coordinates entire referral, including insurance verification, home health scheduling, discussing financial responsibilities with patient, working closely with Chartwell operational staff, etc.
Performs basic patient education in relation to therapy.
Gives high priority to patient and referral source satisfaction
Identifies issues and concerns the patient and/or family may have and assist in issue resolution
Follows established administrative and human resources policies and procedures to ensure compliance at all times
Attends educational in services, departmental staff meetings, and mandatory training and UPMC Health System meetings as required.
Maintains patient information and records confidentiality
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
Previous relevant experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
Previous managed care/insurance experience preferred.
Project management skills required.
Public speaking experience preferred.
Effective communication skills.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
Self-starter with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems with minimal supervision
Strong customer focus as demonstrated by the ability to identify, understand, and respond to Customer needs
Excellent interpersonal skills
Basic computer application skills
Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and to function independently.
Able to analyze issues objectively, provide workable solutions and implement these actions.
Able to interact and communicate with multiple sources, including the institution staff, physicians, home health servicing companies, community agencies and resources, patients, their representatives and/or family.
