The A/R Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the A/R team, ensuring accurate posting, timely collections, and excellent customer service.  This role supports all finance and collection functions with a focus on driving cash flow, reducing aging, and achieving pharmacy targets. The A/R Supervisor is also responsible for the integrity of all payment batch applications, resolution of escalated billing issues and maintaining strong relationships with residents, responsible parties and facility staff.

Essential job functions (include the following):

Manage all A/R and collections functions to ensure timely posting, accurate processing and a high level of customer serviceSupervise team members, including hiring, training, evaluating, scheduling, coaching, disciplining, etc.Lead team in development, documentation and ongoing updates of operations training manuals and departmental policies and proceduresAssist in month-end close processes, including statement preparation, reconciliations and reportingAnalyze operational and financial reports for variances and recommend correction actions as neededCollaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve billing issues and improve processesServe as subject matter expert on all department operating systems, including QS/1, DocuTrack, and banking softwareEnsure bank reconciliations and payment batch postings are completed accurately and in a timely mannerCross train and have a thorough working knowledge of all department functions to assist/support clearing bottlenecks in workflow and ensuring the most efficient processes are followed.Assist in answering phones and providing customer serviceProvide customer account audits and support the team when needed.Lead by example in all areas of role and supporting the non-negotiable attributes: attitude, dependability, commitment, productivity, efficiency and upholding policies and proceduresOther essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed


Education and/or Certifications:

High School Diploma or GED required, Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field preferredPharmacy trainee license preferred


Skills and Qualifications:

3+ years of related A/R or billing experience in healthcare or pharmacy (advanced degree may substitute for experience)Supervisory experience requiredProficiency in pharmacy management systems, billing platforms and Microsoft Excel.Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and problem-solving skillsQuality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
