Job Summary
The Account Representative is the primary touch point for Tell Manufacturing customers. You will interact with customers to provide information about products and services, handle and resolve complaints, and offer technical and sales support. This role includes managing both new and existing customer relationships while delivering excellent service and solutions from a broad range of products.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
(30%) Serve as the main contact for customers via phone, email, or in person—providing product information, processing orders, handling cancellations, and managing customer complaints. Build strong business relationships and exceed customer expectations.
(25%) Provide quotes and estimates using price lists, blueprints, and product literature. Explain product features and benefits, negotiate sale terms, and support the sales team in closing deals.
(10%) Offer technical support related to product installation (e.g., door closers, locks, panic devices), re-keying locks, or removing cylinders.
(10%) Investigate and resolve customer complaints. Refer unresolved issues to the appropriate department for further handling.
(5%) Research and source special product orders in collaboration with procurement and the outside sales team.
(5%) Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, tracking inquiries, complaints, and order status.
(5%) Process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) by comparing disputed items or shipping issues against original orders and invoices.
(5%) Continue professional development through workshops, professional publications, and networking.
(5%) Write and edit sales materials and customer communications as needed.
Perform additional duties or projects as assigned by the Manager.
Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma, GED, Associate’s degree, or equivalent (2+ years of relevant experience).
Required Skills2–5 years of sales and/or customer service experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent reasoning, organization, and prioritization abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with staff and customers.
Strong decision-making skills and attention to detail.
Work EnvironmentStandard office setting with typical working conditions.
