The Account Representative’s first and foremost responsibility is to protect the financial integrity of OakBend Medical Center.  The Account Representative is accountable for effectively managing a portion of OakBend Medical Center’s Accounts Receivable.  This includes collections from patient families, third party payers, government entities, etc., and requires timely and accurate contractual adjustments.  The Account Representative must use good judgment in charity and bad debt considerations.

 

The Account Representative must aggressively pursue every avenue of payment available to maximize reimbursement of each account within his/her area of responsibility for OakBend Medical Center.  In other words, protecting the financial health of OakBend Medical Center and providing exemplary customer service to our internal and external customers are the crux of this position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION

 

High school diploma or GED; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered.

 

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

 

Previous medical experience preferred.

 

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

 

None. 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

 

Typing 35 words per minute.  Excellent interpersonal skills required.  Collection laws; ability to communicate well with customers; ability to handle extensive phone calls.
