Mueller – Account Specialist – Inside Sales Department

Hourly rate:  $24.00/hour

Mueller, the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an opening in our Inside Sales Department for an Account Specialist.  This position is located at Mueller's Shared Services office in Decatur, Illinois and will report to the Quotations Assistant Mgr.      

The primary function of the Account Specialist is to perform account-related functions necessary for the day to day updating and maintenance of customer accounts for Mueller’s Water Infrastructure, Specialty Valve, and Gas business.  This person will perform a wide range of tasks including maintaining accounts, reconciling disputes, providing invoice copies, and other duties as assigned.

Duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Updating and maintaining all addresses and changes in E1Running copies of invoices for customers and providing in a timely fashionInvestigate and resolve all disputes provided by Accounts Receivable in SalesforceWorking with the Manger of Quotations to resolve all pricing and shipping disputesIssuing credits and debits in E1 for pricing discrepancies, shortages, and other items as neededUploading invoices into customer portals as requiredSupport internal and external audits with dataBackup for entry of tax credits as requiredCarry out additional job responsibilities and duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

 A minimum of three (3) years of previous job experience relating to accounts receivable, accounting, accounts payable, etc.Intermediate computer experience with particular proficiency in formula-based programs such as Microsoft Excel. Ability to work in a team setting and gain trust and respect of various persons of authority throughout Mueller’s various locations.Demonstrated organizational and time management skills

Desired Qualifications:

Associates degree in accounting or business-related fieldStrong Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Knowledge of JDE/E1

Primary work hours will be 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 Monday through Friday. This position does have a 60-minute unpaid lunch. Overtime may be required on an intermittent basis. (This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay.)
