Job Description

What’s it all about?

The Ecosystem Risk function upholds the security and integrity of the payment ecosystem through the detection, mitigation and remediation of fraudulent and illegal activity.  The Europe team is responsible for ensuring that Visa’s global ecosystem risk framework and approaches are fit for the European payment system and support Visa’s goal of driving sustainable business growth.

Visa is developing new capabilities for use in Account-to-Account (A2A) payment flows, with participation in this space a strategic priority for the business. This role is an important contributor to the success of Visa’s risk management approach to A2A.

The A2A Ecosystem Risk Senior Manager role is a new individual contributor position within Ecosystem Risk and will report into the Head of Ecosystem Risk. The role holder will be responsible for contributing to the development and effective operation of Visa’s risk and fraud management controls surrounding A2A payments in Europe.

 

What we expect of you, day to day:

Act as Europe Ecosystem Risk SME for A2A ecosystem risk threats and mitigations. This includes providing guidance and material on excessive fraud and disputes, risk policies and operational risk questions relating to Visa’s A2A scheme.

Monitor Europe A2A fraud and risk performance and escalation of issues at client, market and regional level.

Execution of Visa’s A2A fraud monitoring program.

Support in-market Risk Managers:

Coordination on top A2A threats and risk trends.

Assist Risk Managers on monitoring key metrics for A2A fraud and risk performance.

Ability to travel and support Risk Executive Councils and Risk engagements in priority A2A markets.

Develop and implement a Europe A2A ecosystem risk roadmap to ensure oversight of A2A scheme risks.

Ensure Visa’s A2A ecosystem risk framework supports Visa go to market plans for A2A.

Act as liaison with Europe Product and Cluster teams and ensuring risk threats are mitigated pre and post go live.

Act as liaison with Global Risk on development of global risk approaches to A2A – e.g. incorporation of global programs such as Visa Acquirer Monitoring Program, Visa Integrity Risk Program and MIS.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

QualificationsStrong payments industry experience with a good understanding of traditional and emerging payment methods and ecosystem risk threats.Excellent understanding of Account-to-Account Payments, the associated payment system risks and mitigation strategies to target A2A risks.Experience in payments fraud risk managementKnowledge of the major trends within the UK and wider European payments system and / or financial services industry.Familiarity with Visa ecosystem risk threats (illegality, fraud, disputes) impacting the Visa payments system and mitigation strategies that can be employed.Track record of successfully managing operational risk programs within the payment industry and/or regulatory environment.
