We are searching for a Principal Accountant on behalf of our client. This is 6-month contract assignment.  The person will lead a special project to clean up balance sheets for a non-operated oil and gas play. This will involve reconciling revenue, cash receipts and outstanding accounts receivable.

 

Location:  Houston, TX 77002

 

Responsibilities

Expected deliverables will be improved process flows and documentation, completed reconciliations, and tag and clearing aged balances. Will work closely with revenue team and project controller’s to understand existing monthly close process, background on the business structure and current issue to be resolved.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, plus 6+ years accounting experience required. A CPA, CMA, MBA or Master's in Accounting is strongly preferred. Experience with handling complex account reconciliations Oil and gas industry experience preferred Self-starter, proactive mindset Tenacious approach to digging into complex problem solving
