About Us
The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon, United and Atkinsrealis located in Kincardine, Ontario. Shoreline Power Group is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program which replaces the main components of 6 reactors at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders as well as construction management and trade labor. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064
Reporting to the Project Finance Manager, the Project Accountant will ensure proper tracking, analysis and forecasting of project costs and provide job costing information to project management.
What You'll Do Here
Set-up Projects and CSO's in SAP for projects as assigned Ensure the proper tracking, analysis and forecasting of ongoing projects Review cost reports to verify that budgets, planned and actual costs, contracts and subcontracts have all been properly tracked Initiate and conduct cost, revenue, and margin analysis Ensure contract is fully invoiced, complete with associated contract documentation Monitor and analyze subcontract costs Create, maintain, and update customer T&M rates (Z tables) as contractually required Review Labour standard costs and reconcile monthly variances Monitor payment status on all assigned contracts Ensure contract extras are tracked and billed Maintain filing system for contract documents in accordance with auditing procedures Track, monitor, and analyze productivity data Perform project reviews with project management personnel Verify current insurance, bonds, and lien waivers Enter client billings into SAP system Run job cost reports as required Interpret accounting financial data, analyze financial reports, and recommend actions to be taken Extract and analyze a variety of accounting/financial data from diverse sources and prepare reports Perform complex cost accounting duties requiring experience in cost accounting theory and practices Participate in the preparation of quarterly forecasts/ annual Business Plans/ Budgets for the SBU Prepare and enter month end entries such as subcontract accruals and cost transfers Conduct variance analysis on various accounts as required Prepare and submit various reports as assigned Provide feedback to project managers on the ongoing cost controls of the projects Provide historical information to the estimating department Provide financial services support to the project team Other duties as assigned
What You Bring To The Team
Post-secondary education: Bachelor of Commerce Degree or Business Administration Diploma One (1) plus years in a financial accounting role Holding a CPA designation or desire to pursue is an asset Construction payroll experience is an asset SAP experience is an asset Working knowledge of HST/GST rules is in asset Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and provincial Employment Standards. Demonstrated computer software proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel Attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational skills in order to handle multiple deadlines within a high-pressure work environment Ability to work within stringent time constraints
