Sr Accountant
We are looking for a Sr Accountant to join our Shelby team!
As our Sr Accountant you will, maintain or oversee the maintenance of accounts and records in such areas as revenue and receivables, fixed assets, inventory and others. You will perform professional accounting work including compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. Additionally, you will require an understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles such as US GAAP.

Your Challenge
Oversee, maintain, and reconcile general ledger accounts, such as fixed assets and inventory, and compile reports based on these accounts
Prepares, reviews, and verifies accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records
Perform analysis to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, forecasts, period-end reports, and variance reports as requested
Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing procedures
Reviews, coordinates, and provides documentation to support various internal and external audit requirement
Examines assigned accounting documents to verify accuracy of computations and uniform application of policies, procedures, and acceptable accounting standards
Report to the Accounting Manager and work to improve financial processes
What You Bring
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
2-4 years of work experience preferable in a manufacturing environment of within a public accounting firm, but not required.
Working knowledge of US GAAP and other applicable accounting principles
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including the use of pivot tables, vlookups, and other advanced formulas
General proficiency in other Microsoft Office Applications
High accuracy in handling and recording financial transactions
Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve accounting discrepancies
Have an understanding of and commitment to ethical practices in accounting
Detail oriented with an eagerness to learn and willingness to adapt
