JOB DESCRIPTION:   Accountant 2

As an Accountant 2 at Nordstrom, under the general supervision of the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting, you will be responsible for moderately complex accounting activities relating to prepaid expenses, inter-company, various accruals and cash.

Accurately record transactions into the general ledgerAccurately reconcile accounts, summarize activity and resolve reconciling differences appropriately.Understand the Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts, analyze and investigate unusual trends and activities.Perform accounting and control procedures related to moderately complex balance sheet accounts. Support internal and external audit efforts to ensure complianceAble to effectively contribute to the decision-making processConstantly strives to exceed goals, requirements, previous accomplishments and expectationsContribute to month-end/quarter-end/year-end close process to ensure timely, accurate financial data that is in compliance with GAAP and accounting policiesAssist the team with ad-hoc projects as directed

BS/BA in AccountingMinimum of 2-5 years of experienceKnowledge of US GAAPProficient with Microsoft ExcelCPA preferred but not required.Public accounting experience preferred but not requiredPrevious Corporate Accounting experienceGood Understanding of SOX and internal controlsExperience with Essbase Excel Add-in, prepaid and inter-company accounting, Oracle General Ledger and Discoverer, and reconciliation tool (i.e., blackline, etc) huge plus.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
