Position Overview:
E.H. Wachs is seeking an early career Accountant in our Lincolnshire, IL location. This onsite role will have a significant focus on the Accounts Payable (AP) and Receivable (AR) function to provide accurate and timely processing of transactions for the company. As an active member of our accounting team, you will play a key role in ensuring timely payments of AP invoices and contacting customers regarding outstanding AR balances.
As you grow with our team, you will take on more accounting responsibilities and develop into a staff accountant where you will drive results by accurately preparing, interpreting, and communicating business unit (BU) financial information. You will also support the team by ensuring the integrity of our financial records while supporting the culture, procedures, and internal controls. Your strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with others will make you an invaluable asset to our team.
Core Responsibilities:
Receives, reviews, and posts AP invoices in Great Plains accounting system
Responsible for collections and posting cash receipts
Maintains accounts/financials according to standards
Set up for new customers and vendors
Works cross functionally to complete necessary tasks.
Communicate with vendor and customer inquiries via phone and email
Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for specified general ledger accounts.
Participates in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes.
Participates in day-to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting & analysis for assigned functional areas.
Provide various sales analysis reports as needed to help support the BU and provide timely data for other managers to assist with decision-making.
May assist in capital expenditure requests and audits, and manage fixed assets within the BU.
Research and resolve divisional inquiries from corporate or external partners.
Participate in the development, enhancement and monitoring of company internal controls.
Ensure company policies are being followed as well as implementation of new controls as they arise.
Help other employees understand how their choices and decisions will impact the financials and identify, communicate, and train others on key business drivers.
Be a strong motivational champion of the ITW Toolbox; utilizing 80/20 in all critical thinking toward applying sound judgment to analyze processes, identifying, and acting upon opportunities to reduce complexity and simplify processes.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
Minimum of 1-2 years of Accounting or Finance experience required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) is required. Working knowledge of ERP systems, financial report writers, business intelligence systems (e.g., Great Plains, is a plus)

The annual base salary range for this position is $65,000 – 70,000 annually. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. The company considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
