Description We are looking for an experienced Hybrid Accountant to join our team in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will oversee key financial processes, ensuring the accuracy of our records and compliance with regulations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to critical financial reporting and operational efficiencies while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Responsibilities: • Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled. • Manage state and county sales tax obligations, collaborating with third-party vendors like Avalara for compliance. • Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings, handling journal entries, accruals, sales commissions, and deferred revenue calculations. • Analyze financial performance by comparing actual results to budget, identifying variances, and providing actionable recommendations. • Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analyses. • Support tax filing processes by reconciling and committing sales tax transactions and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. • Recommend improvements to internal controls and accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy. • Provide documentation and schedules to support internal and external audits. • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data to management and other stakeholders. • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies promptly through thorough reconciliation processes. Requirements • Proficiency in accounting software systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools. • Strong knowledge of accounting functions, including accounts payable, auditing, and budget processes. • Familiarity with payroll systems like ADP, Ceridian, or comparable platforms. • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights. • Expertise in preparing comprehensive financial reports and reconciling accounts. • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively. • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information clearly.
