Position Overview
The Accountant will be a part of DAI’s corporate accounting team. S/he will be an independent, hands-on, and self-directed individual responsible for multiple aspects of the corporate accounting function that reports to DAI’s Associate Director, Accounting. S/he will work closely with other members of the accounting and finance management team to drive DAI’s priorities and objectives.
The Accountant will handle DAI’s intercompany accounting and billing processes and provide DAI’s subsidiaries with accounting support as needed. S/he will support the monthly close process, generate monthly journals, perform account reconciliations and analysis, and other month-end accounting and reporting tasks as assigned by the Associate Director.
This is a full-time, permanent, Hybrid position.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of the intercompany accounting and billing of a portfolio of subsidiaries and resolving FX related issues. Manage monthly intercompany billing cycle and generate invoices for intercompany direct and indirect projects. Prepare consolidation and elimination entries and ensure they are reflected fully and accurately. Assist with field cash analysis and other related areas. Support timely closing and consolidation of monthly and year-end books and records for DAI. This includes recording journal entries and reconciling balances. and ensuring accuracy by reviewing financial statements, investigating account variations, and verifying account balances. Assist with external audits including preparation of necessary work papers. Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary.Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Requirements:
Grade P5: Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in corporate accounting and a college degree. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Well-versed in US GAAP accounting, specifically in international transactions and foreign currency translations. High level of computer literacy with advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Must be hands-on, and self-directed with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks/competing deadlines simultaneously. Must be comfortable with and embrace working at a very detailed level (for example, booking journal entries and reconciling accounts) as well as thinking strategically about DAI. Able to handle confidential and/or sensitive information with discretion. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Demonstrated ability to work in diverse teams, create inclusive work environments, and work effectively within a culturally diverse environment. Authorized to work in the USA. Preferred, but not required: Working knowledge of SAP. Experience with automation initiatives and change. CPA preferred. Preferred 3 years combined experience in all aspects of accounting close and working at a public accounting firm. Experience in researching, developing, and/or implementing accounting policies and procedures. Working knowledge of FAR and CAS. Compensation & Benefits:For employees working in the United States, the full-time equivalent annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $82,417 to $96,962. Salary for part-time employees will be prorated based on actual hours worked. Actual offers will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant education, experience, skills, seniority, performance, and business or organizational needs.
