Overview TRC is growing tremendously and has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate must have 3-5 years previous experience in accounting functions, GAAP knowledge is preferred and Advanced Excel skills required. The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of a company’s reports, statements, and reconciliations. The individual will be part of the General Ledger team reporting to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for performing critical responsibilities to facilitate the company’s month-end close processes. Responsibilities Primary functions and essential responsibilities: Responsible for performing General Ledger accounting functions to ensure accuracy and timeliness of the month end closing process. Prepare monthly account reconciliations ensuring balance sheet and expense accounts are appropriately supported and any reconciling items are researched and cleared in a timely manner. Prepare and enter standard, recurring, reversing and adjusting journal entries. Compile and attach supporting documentation to journal entries. Running and preparing month end reports. Provide support to external auditors ensuring timely, efficient audit completion. Participate and support an environment of continuous improvement of processes, as well as documentation of work procedures and policies. Special projects and other accounting functions as required. Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on an as needed basis. Required Knowledge/Experience: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent in a combination of experience, training and education. 3-5 years previous experience in accounting functions. GAAP knowledge preferred Advanced Excel skills required. Experience with Deltek or other similar general ledger accounting software required. Experience with bank reconciliations, including foreign accounts and General Ledger account reconciliations. Experience maintaining and reconciling fixed assets. Skills/Abilities: Ability to work independently Ability to define problem, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to multi-task, be detailed oriented and possess strong organization skills. Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with management, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
