Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Grant Accountant in Detroit, Michigan. This role revolves around managing and overseeing accounting data to generate accurate financial reports. The successful candidate will be based in our financial department, handling a range of tasks from accounts payable and receivable to general ledger handling and grant processing. Responsibilities: • Managing day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and journal entries • Establishing and monitoring control systems to manage and optimize organizational spending • Accurately processing and recording accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely payment of invoices • Conducting regular and timely reconciliations for all accounts • Analyzing and reporting financial data to provide transparency and insight for management decisions • Overseeing Accounting grant activities to guarantee financial compliance with respective grant stipulations • Collaborating with the finance team to strategize for both short-term and long-term financial goals • Working with external auditors and preparing necessary materials and reports for the audit process • Maintaining an organized accounting filing system and developing a system for keeping financial records • Implementing financial policies and procedures.
