WesleyLife is looking for a dedicated Accountant to join our team and contribute to the financial success of WesleyLife. You’ll play a key role in managing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, and supporting leadership in making informed decisions.

A Day in the Life as an Accountant with WesleyLife:

Lead monthly financial closings, prepare journal entries, and oversee cash disbursements and tax liabilities. Master the financial reporting system, train new staff, and support the existing team with report writing. Prepare internal reports for management, summarizing financial performance, including census and productivity. Monitor financial margins, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate reporting. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and supporting Executive Directors in completing annual budgets. Administer the financial system (Cognos), manage banking relationships, and oversee electronic user rights. Play a key role in annual tax returns, insurance renewals, and external audits. Ensure accuracy of property, equipment, and depreciation schedules. Review and enhance internal controls and accounting policies for efficiency and compliance.

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting (advanced degree/certification is a plus). 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or senior living. Strong understanding of GAAP, nonprofit accounting, and cost accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and financial reporting systems. Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate with leaders to meet strategic goals. Excellent communication skills to simplify complex financial concepts and work effectively across teams.
