Job Overview

The Accountant owns the general ledger for assigned accounts. The Accountant will support both finance and operations team members with a focus on driving accurate accounting and reporting, sustainable process improvements, resolving business challenges and assisting with evaluating and addressing the impact of new business initiatives. Position can be located Milwaukee or Chicago (near O’Hare).

Key Job Responsibilities

•    Be a key contributor to the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules for the financial reporting process. 
•    Identify and support accounting and operational process improvement initiatives.
•    Complete balance sheet account reconciliations accurately and timely to substantiate the account balances. Perform timely investigation and resolution of any reconciling items.
•    Responsible for several key accounts, including but not limited to: prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, intercompany billing, payroll accruals, etc. 
•    Benefits and insurance processing, rebills and reconciliations.
•    Extended warranty and insurance company balancing
•    Loan balancing
•    Assist with internal and external audit requests.
•    Complete ad-hoc reporting and projects as deemed necessary through collaboration with our business partners.
 

Qualifications/Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
•    1-3 years of progressive accounting and or financial analysis experience
•    Good leadership, communication, and organization skills
•    General understanding of US GAAP, financial management and best accounting practices
•    Intermediate or better PC Skills, such as MS office (especially strong with MS Excel)
•    Ability to work without constant direction and communicate with and understand non-accounting focused individuals and processes
•    SAP experience is a plus
•    Committed to meeting established deadlines
