About our Business Unit and Cluster
This role is part of the Northern Europe Cluster within the Europe & Africa (EAF) Business Unit. This Cluster promotes and sells Club Med resorts to key markets in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Nordics. We target individual (FIT) and corporate (MICE) clients through both direct (web, call center) and indirect (trade) sales channels.
Job Overview
As the Accountant for Club Med Northern Europe, you will play an important role in the Northern Europe Cluster’s Finance team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial health and success of Club Med in Northern Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable/Receivable & Cash Management:
Oversee daily AP/AR functions, including invoicing, payments, and account reconciliations.Assist in managing cash flow, intercompany transactions.Financial Reporting:
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.Participate in preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and internal standards.Compliance and Audit:
Participate in internal control tasks.Assist in preparing for audits by coordinating with internal and external auditors.Process Improvement:
Work with the Finance team to support budget preparation and financial forecasting.Liaise with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights.Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve internal controls.Provide guidance and support to junior team members to enhance their skills and performance.Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Progress toward or completion of a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is a plus.Experience:
2+ years of experience in accounting.Solid understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS; knowledge of French GAAP is a plus.Skills:
Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Capability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines effectively.Personal Attributes:
