**Title:** Accountant **Location:** United States-Michigan-Cadillac **Other Locations:** United States **Job Number:** 16804 **SUMMARY:** Prepares income and balance sheets, consolidated statements and other accounting statements, report, analyses, operating budgets. Assists in implementation of control systems. **SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Gathers and correlates basic accounting, cash, budget and other financial information using established procedures. + Applies fundamental concepts in the application of any judgments to relatively routine matters. + Provides accounting for the assigned organization entity or facility, verifying the accuracy of journal entries, budget and accounting classifications and charges to assigned accounts. + Conducts special studies and develops financial reports for the facility. + Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct; ensures adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. + Assists in month end close responsibilities including journal entries, reconciliations, and quarterly reports for SEC filings. + Supports monthly close process. + Light travel may be required. + All other duties as assigned. **CORE COMPETENCIES:** Commitment to company values and ethics Dependability: personally responsible, completes work in a timely manner, and performs tasks accurately Motivation: must maintain a positive attitude and strong work energy Organization: very detail oriented and always comes prepared Communication: excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills Analytical skills: must be able to gather information and use data to determine cause and effect for complex problem solving Initiative: plans work and carries out tasks without detailed instructions, prepares for problems or opportunities in advance, undertakes additional responsibilities Problem Solving: ability to develop and implement new ideas to improve processes Advanced computer proficiency Qualifications: **QUALIFICATIONS:** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
