Job Description

FNB Insurance Brokers is looking for a professional accountant with excellent people relationship skills. Attention to detail is a key attribute of the role, as well as the ability to work in a dynamic environment wherein result orientation is the norm.

The individual will primarily be responsible for, but not limited to the following.Being a custodian of primary financial controls, performing regular controls tests and assessments to ensure the controls environment remains sound at all timesPerforming account balance substantiation on regular intervals, taking corrective action as may be necessaryUndertaking risk management and governance duties to support sound oversight on the Bank’s financial controlsConducting regular reviews on accounting and finance procedures, policies and processes, including system-based accounting and finance processes to ensure continued relevance and efficiencyBuild working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration, and innovationControl expenditure and identify process improvements to contain and reduce costsDisplay and encourage an appreciation of teamwork and inclusivityCompile reports that track progress and guide business to make informed decisionsEnsure development and continuous value add improvement to operational processesPrepare and report on the business's operations and financial conditions.Coordination and involvement in process improvements and process re engineering initiatives

Qualifications and Experience

A professional accounting qualification from an internationally recognized body, e.g. BICA, ACCA, CIMAA relevant Business Degree, with majors in accounting and/or FinanceAt least 3-5 years of progressive work experience in finance and accounting, prior work in a controls or auditing environment will be a plusStrong interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate, and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment.Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business objective.
