Job Description

Location: Weybridge (UK) – Hybrid working supported – remote working can be discussed

Inventory Accountant

Reporting to the Accounting Manager and working closely with a small collaborative team of Accounting professionals, you will be responsible for the management of the raw materials good receipt process. You will be responsible for margin control, review of inventory positions and reconciliation of open purchase orders relating to our raw material purchase. In addition you will be responsible for Intercompany recharges from a central holding company to 30 operating entities.

The position offers a great opportunity to deliver process improvements, help strengthen the control environment and work on reconciliation and automation of current accounting processes whilst reducing risk.

Key Accountabilities

Post goods receipts for our primary raw material (timber) purchase orders based on information from the procurement departmentPost GRs on new pallet manufacturers purchase ordersCreate monthly reports and analysis of purchases and sales of timber, with the purchase/ sales price and usageReview aging goods received not invoiced balances to identify overdue balances, working with procurement to reduce riskReconciliation of invoices and assisting in the event of invoice queriesReport on margins, hire stock and CapexSupport the full year close process and help the submission process for external auditorsSupport the asset accounting team with Hire Stock reconciliations between different SAP modulesManage Intercompany Rentals and Lost Equipment recharges Prepare monthly Intercompany Hire Stock Imports and Exports schedulesExecute financial accounting tasks, including monthly close, Hyperion load checks and journal creationPerform valuation of hire stock disposals and impairmentsProvide additional support to the Accounting FA Manager as needed

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant discipline or in place of a degree studying/ part qualified in a recognized Accounting qualification (AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA)Part/ Qualified by experience considered

Skills and Experience

Proven experience of Asset/ Inventory Accounting preferably using SAP Inventory moduleAble to manipulate large amounts of data using Microsoft ExcelConfident to summarize and present complex financial data in a way that is concise and easily understood by a non-finance audienceProactive and collaborative in working with different stakeholders in a matrix companyExperience working with internal and external auditorsA process improvement mindset or experience automating processes/ reports
