About the Position:

The Accountant will be responsible for data entry, posting journal entries, preparation of accruals, bank reconciliations, month-end closing processes, and other related duties.

Essential Job Functions:

Assists in monthly financial close process by preparing and submitting journal entries. Performs monthly account reconciliations and review of general ledger accounts and funds for accuracy. Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable. Prepares schedules and workpapers for review. Perform and support process for month-end, quarterly and annual closing procedures. Meet all process and reporting deadlines. Assist other members of the accounting team as needed. Participate in department projects as assigned. Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Ability to prioritize action items in high-stress situations to meet deadlines. Ability to adapt to change and handle stressful situations and deadlines with poise and confidence. Ability to learn and become proficient in all workflows within each platform within the department. Ability to perform basic accounting duties such as completing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals with minimal assistance. Detail-oriented, excellent prioritization and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Teams. Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Self-directed and able to work independently with little supervision. Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis, and multi-tasking skills. Strong understanding of journal entries. Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts, and corporate procedures.

Education & Experience:

Minimum 1-2 years experience as an accountant or similar role. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or higher required. Intermediate Microsoft Excel required. Healthcare industry experience a plus. Experience with Sage a plus.
