Role Overview:
We are looking for a Accountant to join our Revenue Accounting organization based out of our Bangalore office. In this role, you will be reporting to the Senior Manager of the Revenue Accounting team based out of Plano, Texas. The role will also involve working closely with the Revenue Accounting team based in Plano, Texas. In this role you will help ensure that the Revenue accounting systems are working as expected as well as supporting the monthly and quarterly close cycles.This opportunity is perfect for someone who is motivated, passionate and has a continuous improvement mindset.
About Role:
Serving as key team member of the global revenue team and reporting to Sr. Manager of Enterprise Revenue Accounting.
Reviewing contracts and individual sales transactions for proper revenue recognition based on guidance under ASC 606 and company's revenue recognition policies.
Own a number of month end and quarter end close responsibilities to ensure accurate Revenue reporting.
Working with multiple teams across the organization ( legal, Operations, FP&A, Deal Desk, Accounts receivables , close and reporting & IT) to assist with deal review.
Preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for both deferred revenue and contra-revenue accounts.
Working with internal and external auditors related to the financial statement audit.
Manipulating large quantities of data within Excel/Google Sheets.
Identifying areas of improvement in policies, procedures, and operating methods.
Support and participate in revenue related projects as required.
About You:
2+ overall years of relevant accounting experience including working with international technology companies.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and Professional accountancy qualification or part qualified accountant preferred.
Working knowledge of application of ASC 606 an advantage.
Self-motivated, and deadline-driven, ability to work autonomously.
Excel experience in-line with required work experience; must be able to manipulate large amounts of data and employ common formulas such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, SUMIFS, etc..
ERP experience preference towards SAP, SAP RAR and Salesforce.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict reporting deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain internal / external relationships.
Communicating in a professional, precise and clear manner (both written and verbal).
Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for completing tasks.
