We are currently seeking an Accountant-Auditor I Limited Term and Accountant-Auditor II Limited Term. The professional and dynamic Auditor-Controller's Office is looking for motivated candidates ready to complete a variety of sophisticated financial reporting projects, statistical and narrative reports, and directly support the implementation efforts of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software system. The position is limited term through December 2026. Even though it is limited term, candidates will be offered all the benefits and perks of full-time employment. We need additional staff support to help us plan and implement the new ERP software system - Workday. The new ERP software system will replace the County’s outdated financial management system and improve business processes, financial reporting, treasury management, and payroll/employee administration to allow stakeholders to have more precise financial information for timely decisions. The project requires significant department resources to directly participate in the implementation of this innovative new system, while maintaining core accounting and financial reporting functions of the Auditor-Controller’s office, which is where you come in. So, if you have training and experience in design and evaluation of internal controls, processing of Accounts Payable or Payroll, compilation of financial statements, or design/implementation of accounting information systems, we want to hear from you! Main Duties:Depending on your unique demonstrated strengths and experience, this position will either be primarily focused on direct support of the daily operations of the Auditor-Controller’s office or directly participate in design and implementation of Workday. Examples of the daily activities include, but are not limited to: + Assist with compilation of financial statements and footnotes for the County Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) + Review and post journal entries + Assist with preparation of the Countywide Cost Allocation Plan + Assist with the implementation of new GASB pronouncements + Configure and maintain the County’s Chart of Accounts + Design and evaluate the effectiveness of financial processes and workflows + Test newly designed processes and workflows and communicate the results to stakeholders and the integration team + Contribute to effective change management efforts The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of accounting principles and standards, be highly proficient in the use of spreadsheets and accounting information systems and programs, be a good critical thinker, be a quick learner, and be comfortable taking on a variety of assignments with limited training. Familiarity with GASB pronouncements or project management experience is a plus. Familiarity with Workday application will be given preference during the screening process. Education and Experience Required Level I: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 semester units in accounting. OR Associate's degree in Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 9 semester units in accounting and two years of experience performing duties equivalent to those of an Accounting Technician in Nevada County.
