The candidate must have a basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and can analyze and report financial information under such principles; perform month end close processes and procedures including journal entries & variance analysis; prepare account reconciliations. Understanding of all aspects of general ledger accounting with multiple companies and locations experience is a plus. Must have excellent communication skills. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Analyzes financial information to ensure accurate recording of assets, liabilities, revenue and expense. Ability to problem solve and analyze all facets of accounting from revenue & expense recognition to accurate balance sheet reporting. + Strong general ledger accounting skills to prepare month-end journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations. Compiles and analyzes general ledger information in accordance with GAAP. + Ability to analyze processes both internal to General Accounting and with other departments that work with General Accounting. The ability to identify, recommend and implement process improvements. + Assist in preparing audit work papers, and ability to work with external auditors. + Ability to work in designated time frames for monthly reconciliations and duties, quarterly and annual projects. + Ability to work in multiple accounting and Microsoft Office software programs (Excel and Access). + Strong communication skills and ability to work well with all departments in the organization.
