Accountant I

As an Accountant I, you will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports, and oversee accounts such as accruals, expenses, capital expenditures, and income. You will compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and verify accuracy. You will be responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures. You will also assist accounting management in a variety of functions including general ledger support, account reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, and various other assignments as necessary.

Responsibilities:

Accurately prepare adjusting journal entriesAnalyze account variances to provide a narrative for management reviewPrepare account reconciliationsAssist in process and system improvementsCross-departmental communication in support of transactionsProvide solutions for further automation of assigned tasksReview allocation coding on indirect purchase requestsLearn company process and continually look for efficiencies and ways to automate

Must Haves:

Bachelor's Degree in AccountingTypically 0-3 or more years of relevant experienceHigher education may substitute for relevant experienceRelevant experience (in Accounting) may be considered in lieu of required educationFamiliarity with Microsoft Excel data analysis and macrosDetail oriented with strong analytical abilitiesStrong organizational skillsPrevious exposure to automated accounting systemsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAble to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work collaboratively in a team

Preferred:

Working knowledge of GAAPCertified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or pursuing Experience with MS Office products: Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
