Job Summary:
Review and approve Fuel Invoices for payment Prepare Personal Property Tax returns, monthly Mileage Reports and quarterly IFTA return Prepare Off Road Fuel Credit returns with various taxing authorities, Heavy Highway Use Tax filings, ensuring accuracy/timeliness and good-standing with taxing authorities Prepare assigned general ledger journal entries, account reconciliations and selected period-end report Assist with various other projects, to include local, state and federal audits, Research state and local tax laws pertaining to Common Carriers Regular attendance is required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background 1 year experience in an accounting/finance capacity required, in lieu of a finance or accounting degree Ability to extract data, manipulate data and prepare reports required Knowledge of trucking and/or transportation preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven history of working well with others in a team environment Ability to manage assigned projects from start to completion with strong attention to detail and quality Excellent organizational skills a must Strong computer knowledge and skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and internet tools and applications Positive, proactive customer service oriented attitude Ability to learn new software Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct Must be able to interact well with others Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check Must be authorized to work in the United StatesPhysical Demands:
