The hiring range for this opportunity is $27.90 to $37.50 per hour along with incentive opportunities, creating a competitive total compensation package based on our pay scale, and may be modified by location and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting standards and regulations commonly found within a financial services environment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare various monthly reconciliations including loans, deposits, accruals, debt, correspondent cash accounts and various other complex general ledger accounts, as needed.
• Maintain fixed asset system & related journal entries, including organization and placement of all new, transferred and retired fixed assets. Must stay abreast of various changes in fixed asset accounting methods for internal, federal tax, state tax and AMT books.
• Assist with the annual capital expenditure budget and maintain the monthly tracking of actual vs budgeted expenditures.
• Prepare weekly & quarterly local agency reports for California’s Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (CDFPI).
• Maintain local agency contracts and waivers, act as liaison for department with branches regarding local agency accounts.
• Reconcile sales tax payable and remit funds when due. Prepare quarterly sales tax return.
• Monitor property leases entered into by the bank, tracking expirations, annual adjustments and CAM charges.
• Support the Accounting team with various accounting tasks as needed.
• Provide guidance and support to Accountant I staff.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1 year of accounting experience.
• CPA designation preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
