The Staff Accountant provides reliable, timely and accurate financial data compilation by reviewing, analyzing and reconciling all accounts and performing efficient, accurate month-end closes. Your efforts help provide accurate financial reporting and analysis and directly influence Global Payments’ performance as a company.
Essential Duties:
The Staff Accountant will perform both accounting and administrative tasks in accordance with the established guidelines and procedures. Essential responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensure that all financial information is recorded in accordance with GAAP and Federal and State regulations and consistent with established Company policy and proceduresPrepare and enter daily and month end journal entriesPrepare general ledger account reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner to include performing detailed research and analysis of differences in the accountsAbility to reconcile intercompany variances and foreign currency translationsParticipation in monthly close process and maintaining the monthly close calendarAssist with quarter and year-end audits as requiredAct as a liaison with other departments concerning accounting information and other assigned areasWork directly with operational personnel to gain an understanding of the processes behind the assigned accountsAnalyze department processes and procedures and recommend improvements as notedInvolvement in special projects as neededAble to maintain sensitive and confidential informationStrong interpersonal skills, ability to work in team driven environment yet be able to work independently to complete daily expectationsAbility to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environmentMust be flexible, customer focused and an agent of changePossess a positive attitudeEscalate issues as appropriateRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in AccountingKnowledge of public accounting principles and practicesStrong critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions to problemsStrong organizational and communication skills requiredDetailed oriented and able to set prioritiesProficient in Microsoft Excel and Google SuiteAbility to manage deadlinesMust be proactive, detailed and results orientedPreferred Qualifications:
