I. Job Summary
Applies moderately complex principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and coordinates the implementation of accounting controls.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary by location.
Prepares moderately complex journal entries for entry into the general ledger system on a monthly basis by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing audit train support for the journal entries. Analyzes general ledger accounts for accuracy; analyzes accrual accounts to ensure proper accruals. Collects and analyzes financial data and prepares monthly combined financial statements and reports. Performs additional analysis for explanatory text required for reports and statement. Coordinates preparation of monthly financial package and reviews for accuracy. Participates in monthly financial meetings for discussion and review of monthly financial reports. Provides guidance to other Finance personnel for proper internal and external financial accounting procedures and their application. Prepares quarterly consolidation report for consolidation. Assists with the maintenance and application of internal controls. Assists auditors for the purpose of providing requested supporting documentation, information on internal processes, and/or coordinating activities in support of the audit process. Prepares moderately complex financial reports in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines. Coordinates with financial team on a wide variety of accounting projects (e.g. Oracle System implementation, etc.) for the purpose of providing required guidance and support. Analyzes financial information for the purpose of identifying process efficiencies, compiling statistical information, and developing procedures. Recommends policies, procedures and/or actions on issues that relate to financial operations for the purpose of providing direction and/or making decisions. Provides basic job training and guidance to team members and leading discussions on a regular basis. Interacts and communicates with other departments and business units to resolve financial related issues.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience. Experience: Three years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
None required.C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
Intermediate accounting, accounts payable, and/or accounts receivable knowledge is required. Ability to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups and work with data of widely varied types and/or purposes. Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Strong ability to apply critical thinking and analytical skills. Solid attention to details, highly organized, and great time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Must be authorized to work in the US. Must be in the Houston area and open to commuting to downtown Houston. Must be open to working the current hybrid work schedule (Mondays – Thursdays in office and Fridays are remote.)
