Accountant III, Fixed Assets will handle multiple aspects of accounting for capital expenditures and assist with other areas of corporate accounting, as needed.

 The ideal candidate is highly organized, with a solid technical accounting knowledge base and excellent communication skills, able to successfully manage multiple projects within set timelines and hit month close deadlines.

What You'll Do:
Manage the full asset life cycle (acquisitions, depreciation, disposals, transfers, etc.), which may mean directing and monitoring the work of other staff level positionsEnsure that fixed assets are capitalized in accordance with the Company policyAssist with creating capital budgetsDevelop and deliver monthly capex reporting packages containing business insightsPrepare short- and long-term depreciation projections for financial and tax purposesBe key liaison for the fixed asset area during external auditsAssist with preparation of the capital authorization requests and ensure understanding of the capitalization policy by the internal stakeholdersPrepare variance analysis for plan vs actual resultsCompile data for annual Tangible Personal Property (TPP) tax filings and assist during the auditsPrepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, as neededProvide data and maintain supporting fixed asset schedules for financial reporting, federal/state tax filings and internal/external auditsCollaborate effectively and represent Accounting in cross functional projectsWork well in deadline-intensive environmentFlexibility to expand responsibilities and take on other special projects, as neededAssist in the design and setup of new processes and controls to meet evolving business needsLearn new technological and software tools to improve process efficienciesQualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance)3+ years of accounting experience, preferably including fixed assetsProficient in ExcelPrior experience with fixed asset accounting, ERP systems and report-writing tools is a plusExperience applying GAAP and IFRS accounting principlesSolid understanding of internal controlsComfortable in a fast-paced environmentContinuously evolve to meet the changing business needsQuick learner and problem solver when faced with new issues or challenges

Preferred qualifications:

CPA, or on track to become a CPA
