The Accountant III position requires an advance level working knowledge and experience with US GAAP, with an ability to research accounting guidance as needed and apply complex accounting concepts. Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and producing timely reports for CentraCare Health entities in cooperation with other accounting department staff and others throughout CentraCare Health.

Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field with a minimum of 6 years of accounting experience or an Associate's Degree in accounting with a minimum of 15 years' accounting experience is required. Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. Advanced degree, CPA or CMA preferred. Experience with Oracle software or similar general ledger software preferred. Healthcare industry knowledge preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be flexible and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.Core Functions:
Month end close responsibilities including preparation and review of journal entries to be posted and general ledger account reconciliation preparation and review. Review of revenue and expense accounts to determine completeness and accuracy. Identification and proper accounting treatment of intercompany transactions including preparation and posting of inter-company journal entries and reconciliation of due to/from accounts between entities. Ensure communication and documentation between entities is comprehensive and timely. Prepare timely, accurate and comprehensive financial statement reporting on a monthly and periodic basis. Research and evaluate trends and variances within areas of responsibility and prepare analysis for management as needed. Create and maintain process and procedure documentation and documentation and monitoring of internal controls with a continual focus on process improvement. Leverage technology to identify process improvement opportunities and implement on an on-going basis. Prepares for and participates in annual audits, leading audit areas of responsibilities. Participate in system implementations and complex special projects as assigned. Willingness to learn and take on new tasks. Adaptive learner; able to quickly apply and develop new concepts in a timely manner. Gain expertise in areas of responsibility as well as solid understanding of business. Communicate with business leaders and build relationships. Demonstrated problem solving ability. Proposing solutions to management for issues identified.
