Thermo Fisher Scientific's Analytical Instruments Group (AIG) provides a broad offering of instruments, consumables, software and services that are used for a range of applications in the laboratory, on the production line and in the field. These products and services are used by customers in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, government, environmental, and other research and industrial markets, as well as clinical laboratories. AIG includes three divisions – Chemical Analysis (CAD), Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (CMD), and Materials and Structural Analysis (MSD) – and our Services business, Instrument and Enterprise Services.
How you will make an impact:
As an Accountant III, you will be a key member of a multifaceted and highly visible team dedicated to risk mitigation across AIG Divisions. The role will involve improving existing processes, developing new system tools and leading Balance Sheet and Account Reconciliation projects. This role will also partner with other Group Controllership teams ensuring processes are in line with AIG standards.
What you will do:
Collaborate with the Manager to implement and lead various system tools supporting Risk Management, including High Radius and Blackline.Aid in the implementations of Blackline Tasks and support GBS-led Blackline projects, such as the new Financial Reporting Analytics module. Develop expertise in the Annual Supplemental Package, reviewing entity submissions and assisting with Division consolidation. Cross train in various aspects of Group Accounting to improve professional development and provide coverage for peers as needed.Contribute to the development of the Account Reconciliation Deep Dive project across AIG, including assessing a new Risk Ranking methodology and coordinating the ongoing audit process. Provide support to the AIG Tax team with reconciliation tasks and research inquiries.How you will get here:
Education
College degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
Experience
Minimum 3 years proven experience in Finance, tax or accounting.Prior experience working with SAP and HFMKnowledge, Skills, Abilities
